I'm in early discussions with Fractured in regards to handing them ownership of the Tanoa Wasteland server. Nothing has been committed to yet, but I just wanted to give everyone a chance to offer their thoughts.
Essentially it boils down to the fact that very few people in this community play Arma 3 anymore. When we have community events most people don't show up. Even with 19 forum votes for a Tanoa Wasteland server and several more advocating for it on teamspeak, we had a showing of only 5-6 people. Fractured was nice enough to send over the same number of people to help boost population. They matched our numbers and it wasn't even their community event. This is before even talking about a transfer, they just sent over people to help and asked for nothing in return. (Thanks Mokey and others)
I realize most people are playing other games now and have lost interest in Arma. So to be clear this isn't me trying to punish the community or rant about the lack of participation. The fact is that we aren't an Arma community anymore. The best thing to do for the people that want to continue playing our custom mission is to give is the best chance of getting it population again. This is completely different than handing it off to a group like Ragequit. Fractured has a large and active Arma 3 player base.
I'm not going down the community merger route as we have twice before, there is no single community leader here so I have no authority. UW is more like a coop than anything and I don't really have the energy to manage another merger anyway. My goal is to gift all of my hard work to another community that will use it. I suspect regardless of what happens that this site and teamspeak will continue as they are.
Keep in mind... should Fractured take ownership of the Tanoa server the admins would need to be registered FRAC members.
